Wow, a year with no update, I need to do this more often.

A few weeks back I finished up the second chapter of Deverish Also and I've already got a start on chapter 3. I've committed to finishing a chapter every year in my ultimate goal of having a thick book with all three chapters by 2010. It involves updating every week until then, and I've done a pretty good job so far.

I'm also running a bit of a contest for a free copy of the Chapter 2 Mini-comic of Deverish Also. All you have to do is go read some of Deverish Also and the post in our forums with what you think, and your name will go into a hat for the drawing.

I'm back from Anime Detour where I was selling books of the first chapter of Deverish Aslo www.studioantithesis.com/dever…

I brought 16, and only came back with 2. No bad for a web-comic I started last year and is barley known of. Everyone seemed to love the cover, and kept picking it up to drool on it.



Other than the stupid line to get our badges, Detour went smoothly. go to hang out with a bunch of other great artist types and play DS games. Even got some planning on the next cahpter of Deverish done.

Well, here is it, 3 days 'til the end of 2007 and I think I've had a fairly good art year. 20 finished pages of Deverish Also & 3 illustrations. I probably could have done more, but this is the most I've ever done in a year.

Next years goals:
45 more pages of Deverish
(20 of them before April to make the printing deadline for Acen)

5 to 6 colored illustrations.
(I'm totally game for any suggestions on what to draw, because I sure as hell don't know what to...)

And some finished 3D rendering… but I doubt that is gonna happen

P.S. My tablet PC has to be given some credit here, it's made doing teh artz much easier because I and kick back on the couch an be creative. Me and paper don't get along too well (at least until some invents paper with layers and multiple undo/redo), and after working all day that last thing I wanted to do was sit in front of my desk at home some more.

I'll be taking a few freebie sketch commission to work on over the next few weeks. I've been working so much on my comic I need some variation in what I'm working on to not go insane.

So, drop me a message with your idea. If you want fan art, keep to anime stuff from the 90's, I'm a just a little (a lot) behind on all the new stuff.

My new comic has been progressing nicely. I started my first page mid-April and since then, have been cranking out a new one every 2 weeks on average. I just finished page 7 and I'm gonna start penciling page 8 this weekend.

While I'm doing these first pages, I'm still working on the other elements that go into the comic. I still haven't finalized all the character designs, and there is a lot more 3D modeling to do. Lightwave has been kind to me and hasn't crashed in weeks, and Manga Studio has rocked, I inked and toned my last page in under 4 hours.

Car. Yep, another MR2.

I finally get my first one www.deviantart.com/deviation/2… running perfectly... I can't have any of that, a perfectly running car is no fun. So I went out and found a new time and money pit to work on. Truthfully, the old one was in bad shape and just too rusted to continue to work on, so I wound up selling it for parts. The new one is a year newer ('88 instead of '87) and supercharged (much faster).

Gaming
Not much gaming in the last few months. My 360 is all emo about it, too www.360voice.com/tag/Firebookd… I even got Paper Mario for my Wii... and haven't even played it yet. Yeesh.

However, I did get Forza 2 and removed the shrinkwrap. It is the best driving sims I've played so far. It's the first sim where a mid-engined car behaves (or misbehaves) like a mid-engined car. And designing your own custom paint job is fairly pimp as well:

Downsides? Won't work with my Logitech DrivingForce Pro wheel, so I have to go buy yet another damn wheel. Car selection is rather slim, not as many odd-ball classics like GT4. Replay camera angles are lame and boring. And the car decal design system is limited, a few more primitive vector shape would make thing much easier. At least it will give me some next-gen racing fun until GT5 for the PS3 ships sometime in 2014, lol.

My Raezinus costume is done for now. Scary in a cute & cuddly sort of way. Next year I'll start on a new variation.

Alphonse. Damn. I never should have started on this costume. Fiberglass, foam core and now carbon fiber. I'm gonna take a shot at getting it ready by AnimeIowa, but I doubt it will be ready, too many other things on my plate.
